I designed and shipped a core editing workflow for millions of creators, in preparation for

I designed and shipped a core editing workflow for millions of creators, in preparation for Final Cut Pro's arrival in the Apple Creator Studio.
With Final Cut Pro about to join millions of new creators inside Apple Creator Studio, I designed a workflow built to meet them. Designing for Mac and iOS, I owned the UI/UX, copywriting, and iconography for essential video editing features, and animated complex interactions and prototypes to bring proofs of concept to life. I sat with marketing to get every text string right, and partnered with engineering to turn specs into shipped features, staying in the loop through build and QA. My summer culminated in several rewarding presentations to design leadership, and to the talented teams behind Logic Pro, GarageBand, Pixelmator Pro, and Keynote, whose apps would soon share a home with Final Cut Pro.

The workflow I designed is now part of the everyday editing experience in Final Cut Pro, and helped establish the interaction patterns that carried the app into Apple Creator Studio. Announced by Apple in January 2026, Creator Studio made headlines in the creator community — a sign that professional-grade creative tools had just become more accessible. Apple SVP Eddy Cue called it a way to give creators "easy access to the most powerful and intuitive tools" across video, music, and design, "leveled up with advanced intelligent tools to augment and accelerate workflows."

Everybody loves a good story, and the best ones allow us to imagine possibilities we hadn't considered before. I presented a lot at Apple, formally and informally. Decks that centered on a moment where someone is using a design to do something they couldn't do before were the ones that followed people out the door. There's a stark difference between explaining and storytelling, and my standards for presentations and design defense have been spoiled ever since.
